Events Assistant Job in Bournemouth, Dorset Temporary Contract Monday 6th November untill 31st March 2018 (Will be reviewed) Standard 37 hours per week (Additional hours during events) £8.80 per hour Monday – Friday 09.00am – 17.30pm BH2 6DY We are seeking an Events Assistant to join Bournemouth Borough Council on a temporary contact. Working withing the Economy and Environment team. You will be on an initial 3 week trial but once this completed you will be on-going. This role involves manual labour tasks and administrative skills. The role is office based for majority of year but additional hours may be required at weekends or evenings during the events. • You will support the process event applications for events on Council land and advise event organisers of the procedures in place. • Provide Administrative and event support to the Bournemouth Tourism Events team as a first point of contact for all event organisers requesting permission to organise an event on outdoor Council land and process applications ensuring adequate permissions are received • Send out event applications and prepare letters of agreement for confirmed events • Maintain spreadsheets and databases for event contacts and income and expenditure items • Maintain administrative systems and procedures, manual and electronic filing and document and photo scanning for events • Act as a first point of contact for telephone enquiries for the events team • Ensure all minor events organised comply with the appropriate policies and bye laws • Undertake Town Centre site visits • Process orders and invoices for the events team • Assist with the processing of bandstand bookings and the associated paperwork • Process filming applications • Assist with administration tasks linked into the town’s major events such as the Wheels Festival and Bournemouth Air Festival Within your CV you must show evidence of the following skills: • Experience of events including relevant outdoor event experience • Basic knowledge of administrative processes and procedures for outdoor events • Basic knowledge of health & safety legislation and procedures for outdoor events • Evidence of previous experience in a similar role must be shown within CV. • Relevant and transferable experience in an administrative role, using IT systems • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, accurately and in appropriate detail • Organisation skills and ability to work to deadlines • Ability to prioritise workload and pay attention to detail • Team work is essential with this role as you will be talking to people from all levels Candidates must hold: • Valid Passport or Full Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance • 2 years’ previous employment reference history City Centre Council Services Division receive various temporary positions every week – To get job alerts via email please email CV to Vicky or go to our website To apply for these positions please register your CV via our website for Events Assistant Job in Bournemouth, Dorset In line with the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
