Role Profile Internal to Employees of NAC Only. TEMPORARY FOR 10 MONTHS ROLE DEFINITION To provide a local housing service to the community by means of an estate based management service. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Responsibilities * To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures. * To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below. Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities * Inspect houses and gardens, advise residents of their responsibilities and take appropriate action to enforce the conditions of tenancy etc. * Inspect housing areas and take appropriate action to deal with any problems identified. * Visit residents and through interviews either in the office or in their homes, advise residents where appropriate and provide information orally or in writing. * Liaise with colleagues where child protection referrals may be considered. * Attempt to resolve neighbour disputes, act as mediator as required, and in general foster good landlord/tenant relations. * Provide information and advice in respect of all of the Council's housing policies and deal with changes in tenancy, applications to sub-let etc * Deal with benefit enquiries and assist in such applications, and deal also with rent arrears and have them pursued in the accustomed manner. * Maintain records of interviews, meetings as appropriate and generally create a database of information in relation to particular estates. * Forge links and maintain contact with residents' groups etc. and in general establish a line of communication between communities and the service. ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE CRITERIA
