This is a permanent opportunity; working for a well-established business based in Grantham. Our client is a new generation of dynamic metal recyclers, dealing only business to business. They are part of the modern day supply chain, producing secondary raw materials, in their base metallic form, for re use by end users, foundries and consumers. This business sets leading industry standards and due to organic growth they are looking for an Operations Manager to join the senior a management team. They are looking for a hands - on and driven Operations Manager to oversee the running of their busy Warehouse. You will responsible for 3 direct reports; Warehouse Supervisors who directly manage the team of 20+ Warehouse Operatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual and you would sit as part of an integral management team offering solutions, advancement and new ideas of how to continue to be best in practice. Reporting directly to the Managing Director’s you will be required to: • You will run reports based on the results of the company’s performance and identify areas for improvement. • Effectively utilise available resources to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement activity of the Warehouse • Ensure that all production targets and KPI’s are being met or exceeded. • Have a strong emphasis on worker’s complying with implemented Health and Safety policies.
• Provide training as required performance reviews, consistently providing targets to work towards.
• Responsible for all Health and Safety in all areas • Promote all site health & safety polices and processes • Responsible for ensuring correct lifting and handling procedures are followed across the company by full time and temporary staff. • Responsible for the safe and tidy maintenance of the warehouse and all adjacent inside and outside areas. • Waste control of the site • Manage Stock control & Inventory • liaise closely with the Company Transport Manager • Ensure all computer records are up to date • Manage all good in, despatch and picking • Pre-planning and organisation of Large delivery • Ensure all dept. have sufficient tools and resources to achieve targets requirements • Promote continuous improvement • Understand/promote the impact on the overall client/Customers • People management • Managing Performance • Development and coaching • Absence management PERSON SPECIFICATION • Must have previous people management experience preferable in a warehouse or production environment • Proven experience of managing a factory or warehouse team • Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships • Excellent MS office proficiency • Awareness of the importance of health and Safety • A motivational leader who has experience of employee relations; managing absence / sickness etc. • Excellent attention to detail • Used to working in a troubleshooting environment where problems may arise and need to be overcome at anytime • Previous proven interaction with a Transport Department BENEFITS Free on site car parking Ongoing development and training with progression 28 days holiday Monday – Friday Annual bonus based on profit and performance To apply, please contact Leanne
