Our Grantham based client is the UK’s largest distributor within their field and they are seeking to hire a Production Section Leader to join their established team in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has experience in a production / manufacturing business within a KPI driven environment and our client have very appealing working hours for this type of industry; although some flexibility will be required. Monday – Friday 08.00-16.30 Reporting directly to the Production Manager the purpose of this role is to ensure the business produce the daily planned volume right first time, in a safe and efficient manner.

Managing a team of 15 operatives, your role will be to pro-actively ensure that all Health and Safety policies and practices are adhered to within Quality control expectations and delivery. You will enjoy taking responsibility and owner ship of production work-to-lists to meet production schedules and have the ability to collate and report these figures on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Responsibilities; • Reviews future production schedules and related information • Liaises with the production manager to determine material and labour costs • Identify overdue orders, track materials and highlight capacity constraints • Control of failed quality components • Stock reconciliation • Active leader in daily production meetings • Liaises with Sales and Planning functions
to ensure materials meet demand for production • Create and assist in maintain SOP’s This role would suit someone who enjoys looking at the root cause of any errors or failings and identifying solutions alongside managing a team and being able to do the daily KPI figures. We are looking for a proven leader and a confident self-starter with well-developed communication skills. You must be a confident interactor and be comfortable building new relationship with internal and external stakeholders. PERSON SPECIFICATION • The ability to understand and apply commercially sensible financial decisions in relation to planning and materials – to think in terms of costs, profit and sales • To analyse problems and issue break them down and make judgements on how to improve • The ability to organise and schedule work activities for a team of 15 operatives • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • To be proactive in terms of sharing ideas or processes that will drive the efficiency of the business forward • Active champion of lean thinking and improvement projects BENEFITS: • A competitive starting salary • 31
