London North West Healthcare Hyper Acute Stroke Unit provides expert Stroke care to patients in North West London. It is one of 8 London Hyper Acute Stroke Units. The unit was awarded BMJ Clinical leadership Team for 2013 and also Research Team of the year 2012. Our excellent team of Nurses have helped us to have the shortest thrombolysis door to needle time in England and to achieve prestigious double A rating on the exacting SSNAP national Stroke performance standards. The 2014 CQC inspection commended our ‘gold standard service’. We are a winning team looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to join our team as band 5 Nurses. The successful candidates will be qualified Nurses who can demonstrate that they have a broad range of experience and competence in Stroke Nursing and / or Acute Medical Care. They will have to demonstrate a passion for Nursing and be committed to providing care with dignity and compassion. The Stroke Unit has a strong Matron led Nursing team and provides an excellent environment in which to learn new skills and develop as a Sister / Charge Nurse. The post holders will be set clear objectives on taking the role and will be given appropriate support and training by our own in house Professional and Development Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered Nurse looking to take the next steps on their career path. In addition to this we also offer bespoke postgraduate courses at level 6 and 7; Stroke management and care facilitated by Bucks New University and Advanced Assessment skills for non-medical Practioners, Kings College. The trust also offers fantastic opportunities for training and development including a unique aspiring Ward Managers training programme. We have a strong belief in staff development and most of our senior posts are filled by promoting our own staff.
